Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang-gun Holds 'Fruit Love Beat the Heat' Event... Sharing with the Underprivileged

Fruit Delivery with the Community Social Security Council

Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang-gun (Eup Chief Song Youngjong) held the 'Fruit Love Summer Escape' event on the 13th, delivering fruit to 30 low-income and vulnerable households in cooperation with the Jeonggwan-eup Community Social Security Council (Private Chairman Choi Jin-ho) to mark Malbok.

This event was made possible by a donation of 30 boxes of grapes from the Gijang Maeum Nanumhoe (President Gam Sanghun). Members of the Community Social Security Council personally delivered the goods to households with whom they have a close relationship, uniting local organizations to support neighbors in need.

Chairman Choi Jin-ho said, "I hope that residents who are struggling with the ongoing heat can enjoy the fruit and have a healthier summer."

Jeonggwan-eup Chief Song Youngjong stated, "I sincerely thank the members of the Jeonggwan-eup Community Social Security Council and Gijang Maeum Nanumhoe for their support for neighbors in need," adding, "We will actively connect welfare resources needed by local residents and take the lead in realizing customized welfare."

Gijang Maeum Nanumhoe is a volunteer organization formed in December 2019. With about 30 members, the group collects monthly dues to continuously support local vulnerable children with side dishes and kimchi, seasonal fruit, and other sharing activities.
