"The Smell I've Never Experienced Before"... Impressions After Tasting 'Luxury Coffee at 1.4 Million KRW per 100g'

YouTuber Bogyeom Posts Review of Visiting Basha Coffee

Morocco's Basha Coffee, known as the "Hermes of the coffee world," recently opened its first store in Korea and gained attention for selling high-priced coffee at 1.4 million KRW per 100g of beans. YouTuber Bogyeom shared his review after tasting this coffee.

Bogyeom, who has 4.78 million subscribers, uploaded a short video titled "I bought and drank a 1.4 million KRW cup of coffee" on his YouTube channel on the 13th. Visiting the Basha Coffee store located in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Bogyeom said, "The interior looks like a palace where Louis XIV might have lived, and there were also bodyguards."

The coffee order was not made verbally but by checking one of the many beans listed on an order sheet. Bogyeom chose the "Paraiso Gold Coffee," which is known to cost 1.4 million KRW per 100g of beans, and when ordered as takeout, one cup costs 200,000 KRW.

When Bogyeom handed over the order sheet and asked, "Is there anyone who drinks coffee that costs 1.4 million KRW?" the staff replied, "You are the first since we opened." When Bogyeom asked again, "The nearby apartments cost 7 to 8 billion KRW. Even people living here don't buy coffee that costs 1.4 million KRW?" the staff smiled and said, "That's right."

After ordering, Bogyeom smelled the coffee beans and said, "As soon as I smelled the coffee beans, I couldn't express it in my head," adding, "It was a scent I had never smelled before in my life."

The coffee Bogyeom ordered was prepared on a takeout tray. It included cream for those who want to drink the coffee smoothly, a premium wooden spoon, and dalgona to accompany the coffee. Introducing the set, Bogyeom said, "They told me to feel the original taste of the coffee, so I ordered it hot in 37-degree weather."

First, after smelling the coffee aroma, he said, "The scent is a very subtle Febreze scent." Regarding the taste, he said, "It tastes a little lighter than Mega Coffee," and then laughed, saying, "What should I do with this?"
