The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on August 14 the regular personnel appointments effective September 1 for 320 individuals, including administrators of kindergartens, elementary, and secondary schools, as well as educational professionals.
In this round of appointments, 134 administrators for kindergartens and elementary schools and 99 administrators for secondary schools were assigned. For kindergartens and elementary schools, 70 principals (including 58 promoted, recruited, transferred, or reappointed and 12 newly appointed) and 64 vice principals (including 35 promoted or transferred and 29 reassigned) were appointed.
For secondary schools, 44 principals (including 36 promoted, recruited, transferred, or reappointed and 8 reassigned) and 55 vice principals (including 33 promoted or transferred and 22 reassigned) were appointed.
In addition, 43 educational professionals for kindergartens and elementary schools and 44 for secondary schools were promoted, transferred, or reassigned.
In this personnel announcement, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education appointed Lee Sangyul, Director of the Academic Achievement Development Institute, as Director of the Bureau of Education; Chun Eunsuk, Director of the Education Training Institute, as Superintendent of the Southern District Office of Education; Ha Seunghee, Director of the Department of Elementary Education at the City Office of Education, as Superintendent of the Dongnae District Office of Education; and Park Jihun, Director of the Department of Educational Policy at the City Office of Education, as Superintendent of the Haeundae District Office of Education.
Kim Miran, Director of the Education Support Bureau at the Southern District Office of Education, was appointed as Director of the Education Training Institute; Kang Naehee, Head of the Secondary Training Division at the Education Training Institute, as Director of the Student Character Education Institute; Han Jonghwan, Director of the Student Character Education Institute, as Director of the Creative Convergence Education Institute; and Kim Hyesun, Principal of Dongpyeong Girls' Middle School, as Director of the Academic Achievement Development Institute.
Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, explained, "We focused on the optimal placement of school administrators and educational professionals with both expertise and competency, to realize a hopeful Busan education where not a single student is left behind in any field, including academic achievement, Neulbom, and welfare."
