Gyeongbuk Development Corporation Employees Work Hard on Flood Recovery in Ibang-myeon, Yeongyang-gun After Heavy Rain

Gyeongbuk Development Corporation (President Lee Jaehyuk) carried out rural volunteer activities on the 13th in the village area of Ippam-myeon, Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, together with members of the Korean Red Cross volunteer group.


This volunteer activity involved 37 participants, including employees of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation and members of the Korean Red Cross volunteer group, who assisted local farms by helping with the harvest of chili peppers, alleviating the labor shortage. Despite the intense heat wave, the employees of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation worked hard and sweated while volunteering.

In addition to harvesting chili peppers, they also participated in flood recovery activities such as cleaning up debris that had washed onto farmland due to heavy rain and collecting fallen crop supports, focusing on areas where recovery efforts had not yet reached. The Ippam-myeon area of Yeongyang-gun was declared a special disaster zone following recent heavy rains. Although recovery work has been ongoing, some areas still needed attention, and these were also addressed during this volunteer activity.


Lee Jaehyuk, President of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, stated, "Recently, due to heavy rain and heat waves, farms in the Yeongyang-gun area have suffered significant damage, leading to a shortage of labor. We did our best with the hope that our small efforts would provide practical help to the residents of Yeongyang-gun." He added, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to the corporation's employees and the Korean Red Cross volunteer group for joining forces even in the heat wave, and we will continue to show our ongoing interest and support for the local community."
