Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that it will hold the "Dongcheon River Walking Walking Competition" on the 16th at Green Island and the Dongcheon riverside area.
This event is part of the Korea Dulle-gil project by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized to promote the Namparang-gil Suncheon section and provide citizens with the joy of walking and a time of healing.
The walking course is a total of 3.8 km, starting from Green Island in front of the South Gate of the National Garden and arriving at Nammunte Plaza along Dongcheon. Participants who complete the course will be given a small souvenir through a lottery. In addition to this event, various experience booths such as basketball bounce, Namparang-gil BI face painting, and promotional booths for walking apps like WalkOn and Durunubi, as well as exercise crews, will be operated.
Meanwhile, when participants arrive at the finish point, Nammunte Plaza, they can also enjoy the vibrant nighttime events of the old downtown area, connected to the 'Cultural Heritage Night Tour' and 'Palma Cultural Festival' venues.
A city official said, "We have prepared an event where participants can enjoy at their own pace while feeling the natural scenery of Dongcheon, which has been upgraded to a national river," adding, "We hope that many people will become interested in walking through this event and learn more about the Namparang-gil Suncheon course."
