All Employees to Focus Their Full Capabilities on Enhancing National Emergency Preparedness
On the 14th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '2024 3rd Quarter Integrated Defense Council and Ulji Exercise Preparation Briefing' at the City Hall Citizen Hall, with over 150 attendees including members of the Integrated Defense Council, former heads of departments and bureaus, and public officials of grade 6 or higher.
This meeting proceeded in the following order: ▲Security video screening ▲Ulji Exercise plan report ▲Military unit mission execution plan report ▲Department and bureau preparation report ▲National key facility protection environment improvement plan report. In preparation for the '2024 Ulji Exercise' to be held from the 19th to the 22nd, key preparation matters and exercise plans for each sector were reviewed in advance.
For this year's Ulji Exercise, a total of 588 participants from 11 organizations and companies will take part, aiming to conduct realistic national crisis management and total warfare drills that align with the current security environment.
The main drills will begin with the initial report meeting on the 19th, followed by ▲wartime organizational structure training ▲wartime establishment organization training ▲administrative agency evacuation and relocation training ▲actual military supplies transportation training ▲civil defense drills in preparation for air raids, among others.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "Recently, the domestic and international security environment has been more turbulent than ever, making it a time when nationwide preparedness is essential. For this year's Ulji Exercise, all employees are asked to focus their efforts so that the public, private, military, and police sectors can work together to enhance our national emergency response capabilities."
