Smart car software (SW) specialist Obigo is taking the lead in strengthening future mobility technology competitiveness by partnering with KG Mobility.
On the 14th, Obigo announced that it has signed a contract to supply an over-the-air (OTA) software update solution for KG Mobility's ’Actyon‘. Through this contract, Obigo has been registered as a Tier 1 supplier directly delivering OTA software to KG Mobility for the first time.
KG Mobility plans to expand OTA application to enhance driver convenience and service competitiveness in preparation for the upcoming software-defined vehicle (SDV) era. Starting with KG Mobility’s ‘Actyon’, officially launching in August, Obigo also plans to extend OTA application to all future vehicle models.
In particular, the ‘Actyon’, which began pre-orders in July, has received great acclaim in the market, surpassing 35,000 pre-orders within a week, demonstrating strong momentum. Accordingly, the future role of the OTA system developed by Obigo is expected to be significant.
Hwang Do-yeon, CEO of Obigo, emphasized, “Since 2016, Obigo has proven its technological capabilities by supplying OTA solutions to domestic and international automakers. Going forward, we plan to provide not only OTA software for automakers but also various connected car services for drivers.”
Meanwhile, Obigo is expanding collaboration with companies specialized in connected car services, such as pursuing commercialization of Vestella Lab’s ‘Watchmile’ and Invisible Idea’s ‘Through’ services targeting automakers.
