Osan-si "Sinjang 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center Transformed into a Cultural and Welfare Complex Space"

Blueprint Unveiled at Design Service Report Meeting
Total Floor Area 3800㎡... Completion Scheduled for March 2027

Osan City in Gyeonggi Province is creating the Sinjang 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center, established through the subdivision of districts, as a complex space equipped with welfare and cultural functions.

On the 13th, Osan City presented this vision at the 'Sinjang 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center Design Service Midterm Report Meeting.' The meeting was organized to review the progress of the design service, which began in February, and to gather residents' opinions.

Mayor Lee unveiled the center's perspective drawing and stated, "We will lead the early completion so that the residents of Sinjang 2-dong can enjoy better administrative services as soon as possible."

The Sinjang 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center is planned to be built at 621-2 Sucheong-dong, Osan City, with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, covering a total floor area of 3,800㎡. The project budget is 19.9 billion KRW. This project is a key initiative of Osan City's 8th elected administration, aimed at securing essential administrative personnel following the subdivision of Daewon and Sinjang administrative districts earlier this year and the increase in standard labor costs set by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The new administrative welfare center will provide not only administrative functions but also spaces for resident self-governance programs for Sinjang 2-dong residents, creating a complex space where welfare and culture harmonize. The city plans to complete the design service by February next year, begin construction in March, and complete the center by March 2027.

In particular, the center's design reflects residents' feedback, including ▲ arranging smooth circulation paths for citizens visiting to resolve civil complaints ▲ maximizing parking spaces within the planned scale ▲ creating a village caf? (kitchen) and harmony deck for smooth village events and festivals ▲ flexible design for adaptable programs and community activities ▲ expanding outdoor resting spaces for citizen communication.

Mayor Lee requested, "Please review and incorporate as many of the residents' suggestions as possible," and urged, "Ensure thorough preparation for a smooth construction process."
