Donation for Creating a Healthy Military Life Environment
Hanwha Ocean (Vice Chairman and CEO Kwon Hyukwoong) presented encouragement funds and care packages to the service members of the Navy's 2nd Fleet.
On the 14th, Hanwha Ocean announced that, together with the non-profit organization 'People Sharing Hope,' it carried out a donation campaign for the Navy's 2nd Fleet, which is responsible for guarding and defending the West Sea and coastal areas of the Seoul metropolitan region.
On the 12th, Kim Hojung, Executive Director of Hanwha Ocean's Special Ship Sales Division, Nam Dongwoo, Advisor, and Kim Dongwoo, Vice Chairman of People Sharing Hope, visited the Navy's 2nd Fleet in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, and provided fitness equipment and daily necessities to support the service members' leisure time on board the ships.
'Hope Sa,' which joined Hanwha Ocean in this care package initiative, is an organization that carries out various support programs for the well-being of military personnel.
A representative from Hanwha Ocean explained, "We planned this care package campaign to help Navy personnel, who live at sea away from land, enjoy a healthy leisure environment so that they can focus on protecting the nation."
Hanwha Ocean is carrying out distinctive social contribution activities, such as supporting Navy vessels, to encourage the dedication of Navy personnel serving at the maritime frontlines. The company also continues to support veterans and the bereaved families of fallen service members. Earlier, in January, Hanwha Ocean donated 30 million KRW to the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong Victory Memorial Association (Chairman Choi Yoonhee, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) to assist the families of those who died defending territorial waters.
