BPA Presents Busan Port Innovation Cases at Pacific Ports Association Annual Meeting

Special Invitation for Discussions on Port Community System Cooperation

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) was specially invited to the "110th Pacific Ports Association Annual Meeting" held on June 13 at the InterContinental Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where it introduced the current status of Busan Port operations, digital initiatives, and responses to global supply chain challenges.

The Pacific Ports Association (PPA) is an organization established in 1913 to enhance the operational efficiency of ports in the Pacific region. At its annual meetings, major ports, related institutions, and companies share their operational status and best practices.

This year's meeting was attended by major Pacific ports such as Long Beach, Kaohsiung, San Diego, Guam, the Marshall Islands, and Tonga, as well as numerous maritime and port-related organizations and companies.

Although Busan Port Authority is not a member, it was specially invited to present not only the latest operational status of Busan Port but also innovative cases such as Chain Portal and the electronic Equipment Interchange Receipt (e-EIR), and to discuss strategies for overcoming global maritime supply chain risks faced by ports worldwide.

Port officials who attended the meeting showed great interest in Chain Portal, the Port Community System (PCS) developed and operated by Busan Port Authority, and expressed their willingness to cooperate on digitalization initiatives.

The Port Community System (PCS) is an open and neutral platform that connects multiple systems, enabling safe and intelligent information exchange among various organizations that make up the port community.

BPA President Kang Junseok stated, "The Pacific Ports Association Annual Meeting was an important opportunity to promote Busan Port's digital innovation cases internationally and to strengthen global cooperation," adding, "Through continued collaboration and exchange, we will further enhance the status of Busan Port as a global leader."
