17th Maponaru Saeujeot Festival Slogan Contest... Submissions Accepted Until August 18
15-Character Phrases Reflecting Festival Image and Purpose... Final 6 Selected for Awards
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) is inviting slogan submissions until August 18th for the successful hosting of the "17th Mapo Naru Saeujeot Festival," which will be held over three days from October 18th to 20th.
The Mapo Naru Saeujeot Festival is Mapo-gu's representative festival enjoyed by all generations in a space that recreates the prosperity of the old Mapo Naru. It is especially well-known for selling high-quality saeujeot from famous production areas nationwide, making it beloved not only by Seoul citizens but also by those preparing for kimchi-making.
Mapo-gu is looking for a fresh slogan that fully captures the charm of this saeujeot festival. The slogan should concisely express the festival's image and characteristics, ideally within 15 characters, clearly conveying the festival's purpose. It is preferable that the slogan is easy to understand and resonates with everyone.
Anyone interested in the saeujeot festival can participate in the contest, and each person may submit one entry.
To apply, download the proposal form from the Mapo-gu website (notice section), complete it, and send it via email to the person in charge. For more details, please contact the Mapo-gu Culture and Arts Division.
The submitted slogans will be reviewed, and six final entries will be selected: one grand prize winner (50,000 KRW), two excellence award winners (30,000 KRW each), and three encouragement award winners (10,000 KRW each). The results will be announced on August 30th on the Mapo-gu Office website.
The slogan selected as the grand prize will be used as the official slogan for the 17th Mapo Naru Saeujeot Festival to promote the event.
Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo-gu said, "This year's Mapo Naru Saeujeot Festival is planned to be enjoyed by people of all ages, featuring not only high-quality saeujeot but also a variety of local specialties, cultural experiences, performances, and events," adding, "We ask for your interest and participation to brighten the saeujeot festival with a distinctive slogan."
