Dedication to Protecting Liberal Democracy, Enhancing Citizen Happiness, and Promoting Welfare
On the 12th, Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho was awarded the "Freedom Medal" by the World League for Freedom and Democracy in recognition of his dedication to safeguarding liberal democracy and enhancing the happiness and welfare of citizens.

This award is presented to distinguished individuals from various countries who have contributed to the protection and advancement of liberal democracy. The medal was presented at the Gumi Mayor's office by Lee Woo-kyung, President of the Korea Freedom Federation Gyeongbuk Chapter, on behalf of Yao Eng Chi, President of the World League for Freedom and Democracy.
Since taking office as the 8th popularly elected mayor, Mayor Kim Jangho has demonstrated democratic leadership of communication and harmony through various initiatives such as liberal democracy lectures, the Taegeukgi flag-raising campaign, the Dokdo Defense Resolution Rally, and youth democratic citizenship education, shaping the future and hope of Gumi.
Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "Receiving the Freedom Medal from the World League for Freedom and Democracy is a call to work even harder for the liberal democracy of Korea," adding, "I will continue to fulfill my duties for the security awareness of citizens and the development of the region."
The World League for Freedom and Democracy was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Taiwan. It is an international non-governmental organization that upholds freedom and democracy as its core values. Currently, 139 countries are members, and the organization continues its efforts to protect and advance liberal democracy.
