What Are the Most Desired Measures by Victims of Jeonse Fraud and Empty Jeonse? ... Interest-Free and Low-Interest Loans Suwon City held the '2024 Housing Survey 2nd Interim Report Meeting' on the 12th.

The most desired support measure among victims of jeonse fraud and "empty jeonse" was found to be "new low-interest or interest-free jeonse loans."


According to a survey conducted by Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, from April 22 to May 31 targeting 374 households affected by jeonse fraud and empty jeonse, 40.6% of respondents identified "new low-interest or interest-free jeonse loans" as the most necessary support measure from the government and local authorities. This was followed by "refinancing, extension, or adjustment of existing jeonse loans" (35.6%) and "priority purchase rights and purchase fund loans" (24.1%).


Additionally, 72.2% of respondents believed that "strengthening punishment for those involved in jeonse fraud and empty jeonse" is a necessary improvement to prevent such incidents.


Among the respondents, 82.3% had used the "Gyeonggi-do and Suwon City Jeonse Damage Support Center," and the main supports received from the center included "application for victim designation" (79.5%), "issuance of jeonse damage confirmation certificates" (49.2%), and "legal support" (38.8%).


To establish the "Suwon City Comprehensive Housing Welfare Plan," from May 27 to June 9, Suwon City conducted a housing survey targeting 4,000 households residing in Suwon, covering ▲household housing conditions ▲local housing environment ▲housing mobility and awareness ▲housing cost burden ▲housing welfare policies.


A Suwon City official stated, "Through the survey on households affected by jeonse fraud and empty jeonse, we identified the requests and improvement measures from victims. We will actively reflect the housing survey results, opinions from related departments, institutions, and advisory groups to set the direction and goals for housing welfare and establish a comprehensive housing welfare plan by sector."


Meanwhile, on the 12th, Suwon City held the "2nd interim report meeting on the Suwon City Housing Survey (Survey on Households Affected by Jeonse Fraud and Empty Jeonse)" at the Suwon City Youth Support Center, chaired by Kim Taegwan, Director of Urban Development. The final report meeting is scheduled for October.
