Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will be interviewed by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, on the X (formerly Twitter) platform at 8 p.m. local time on the 12th. The interview will be broadcast live from 9 a.m. Korean time on the 13th.
Ahead of the conversation with Musk, Trump posted a promotional poster on X and wrote, "Enjoy!" In another post, he questioned, "Is it better now than when I was president?" and added, "Our borders have been erased," "We are a declining nation," and "I will make America great again."
Trump’s interview with Musk on X appears to signal his return to the platform. After his Twitter account was permanently suspended following the January 6, 2021 Capitol incident, he primarily used Truth Social. However, after Musk acquired Twitter in 2022, he restored Trump’s account.
The last post Trump made on X before this was a mugshot photo from August last year. His previous post before that was on January 9, 2021. Given that recent polls show him trailing Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris within the margin of error, major foreign media outlets have assessed that Trump aims to change the momentum through this interview.
