One-Month Tumbler (Reusable Cup) Usage Challenge for District Office Employees Starting July 17
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will implement a 'Tumbler Use Challenge' for employees for one month from July 17 to August 16 to practice reducing the use of disposable products in the public sector.
The challenge, under the theme "Hot summer challenge, 30-day tumbler use challenge!", was planned to encourage district office employees to take the lead in reducing disposable product use and to spread the culture of using tumblers (reusable cups) to the private sector.
During the challenge period, regular announcements urging the use of tumblers are broadcast to raise employees' awareness of reducing disposable products and to encourage tumbler use.
The district continuously monitors and evaluates the practice of using tumblers and plans to provide prizes to departments that excel in implementation.
Through the challenge, the district aims to induce active participation from all departments and naturally spread tumbler use within the organization so that all employees can participate in carbon neutrality efforts.
Additionally, the district conducts quarterly inspections on the use of disposable products and the separation of recyclables within the government buildings, and runs campaigns to ban the introduction of disposable products, making various efforts to encourage employees to practice carbon neutrality.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I hope the 'Tumbler Use Challenge' will be successfully carried out through the voluntary participation of employees, and we will continue to promote various carbon neutrality practice programs to take the lead in creating a better future."
Meanwhile, since February, the district has installed automatic cup washers on each floor to promote tumbler use.
