CEO Park Yoonki and Mayor Hong Junpyo Sign Investment Agreement for 19,200 Square Meters
On the afternoon of the 12th at 3 PM, Daegu City signed an investment agreement with Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Yoonki) at the Sangyeok Office of Daegu City Hall for the construction of the Daegu Metropolitan Logistics Center.
Through this investment agreement, Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. will invest 120 billion KRW in a 19,436㎡ (5,879 pyeong) site within Kumho Waterpolis to build the Daegu Metropolitan Logistics Center, which will serve as an integrated hub for the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region.

Founded in 1950, Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. leads the domestic beverage and liquor market with products such as 'Chilsung Cider', a national favorite, as well as trendy soju brands like 'Cheoeumcheoreom' and 'Saero'. Last year, it became the first domestic beverage company to achieve 3 trillion KRW in sales, solidifying its position as the number one comprehensive beverage company in Korea.
Until now, Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. has distributed its products through small-scale logistics centers focused on wholesale and retail stores. However, with increased production and business expansion, the need for logistics efficiency has grown, leading to the decision to invest in a new Daegu Metropolitan Logistics Center that will integrate scattered logistics centers in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area.
The Daegu Metropolitan Logistics Center is scheduled to begin design in the second half of 2024, break ground in March 2025, and be completed in early 2027. The center plans to maximize operational efficiency by introducing the latest automation facilities and technologies, such as automated storage and retrieval systems and transport robots.
Kumho Waterpolis, where the Daegu Metropolitan Logistics Center will be located, is a high-tech complex in the city center. It is adjacent to Bukdaegu IC, providing easy access to the Gyeongbu, Jungang, and Daegu-Busan expressways, as well as being close to the outer ring expressway that connects the entire Daegu area, making it an optimal location for logistics transportation.
Based on these locational advantages, Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. plans not only to enhance logistics efficiency but also to carry out aggressive marketing in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk market, where it has previously shown relatively weak performance.
Additionally, through this new investment, the company will contribute to job creation by prioritizing local residents for employment and actively cooperate with the local community for mutual growth by utilizing local companies for construction and design.
Daegu City plans to provide one-stop administrative support from the initial stages to assist with various permits and consultations with related agencies for the successful investment of Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. in Daegu.
