Players Show Strong Fighting Spirit... Continue Winning Streak in Group Stage

The Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) soccer team, which won the 60th Spring University Football Federation Tournament, is continuing its winning streak at the 2024 Baekdudaegan Cup 60th Autumn University Football Federation Tournament.

This tournament is being held in Taebaek, Gangwon Province, for 17 days from August 9 to 25. Dongmyung University is expected to create another sensation in matches held at six stadiums, including Gowon Stadium 1.

Dongmyung University is competing in Group 6, known as the "Group of Death," facing Ajou University, Yonsei University, and Seoul National University in the group stage.

In the first group stage match, Dongmyung University achieved a resounding 5-0 victory over Seoul National University, followed by a 1-0 win against Yonsei University, marking two consecutive group stage wins. The team is set to play its final preliminary match against Ajou University on the 13th.

With the goal of winning the tournament, Dongmyung University is demonstrating even greater fighting spirit, having been assigned to a challenging group.

Acting head coach Lee Seungjun said, "Everyone has done their best to prepare. Our only goal is victory. We will continue to show strong performances."

Dongmyung University claimed the runner-up position at the 19th Freshman and Sophomore University Football Federation Tournament Taebaeksan Cup, held at Taebaek Sports Complex in Gangwon last July. The Dongmyung University soccer team, founded on December 20 last year, stunned the nation earlier this year by lifting the championship trophy at the Hansan Battle Cup on February 27.
