Park is accused of uploading a false video titled "The Promiscuous Private Life of the Nation's Boyfriend Actor Idol" on his YouTube channel in 2022 with the intent to slander Kang Daniel.

On that day, Park, who wore a long wig, glasses, and a mask to conceal his face as much as possible, pleaded for leniency in his final statement, saying, "I was immature and very thoughtless. I feel sorry for having hurt the victims. I ask for your mercy." After the trial, he quickly left the scene under a black umbrella to avoid reporters.

Separately from this trial, Park is also on trial after being indicted in May on charges of defamation against seven people, including Ive member Jang Wonyoung. He is accused of violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation) by uploading videos slandering Jang Wonyoung and others between October 2021 and June 2023.

Singer Jang Wonyoung has filed a claim for damages against Park for defamation, and the second trial is currently underway. Previously, the first trial court ruled that Park must pay 100 million won to Jang Wonyoung.
