On the 12th, President Yoon Suk-yeol presented the appointment letter to Jo Ji-ho, the new Commissioner General of the National Police Agency (age 56, 6th class of the Korean National Police University), at the Freedom Hall of the Yongsan Presidential Office.
President Yoon pinned the rank insignia on Commissioner Jo's shoulder and handed him the appointment letter. He also presented a bouquet to Commissioner Jo's spouse, who attended the ceremony together.
After taking a commemorative photo with Commissioner Jo and his spouse, President Yoon moved to the reception room for a conversation.
The appointment ceremony was attended by Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min and Director of the Ministry of Personnel Management Yeon Won-jeong. From the Presidential Office, Chief Secretary Jeong Jin-seok, Director of National Security Jang Ho-jin, and Director of Policy Seong Tae-yoon were present.
Commissioner Jo is originally from Cheongsong, Gyeongbuk, and has served as Chief of Sokcho Police Station in Gangwon, Director of the Women and Youth Division at the National Police Agency, Chief of Seocho Police Station in Seoul, Personnel Officer at the National Police Agency, Deputy Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, and Chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
