A man in his 50s who was released on bail suspension but fled without returning and had been wanted by the prosecution staged a hostage situation with a weapon just before his arrest and escaped, but later voluntarily appeared at the prosecution after persuasion.
On the 12th, Changwon District Prosecutors' Office announced that the wanted man A, who staged a hostage situation and fled on the 9th, voluntarily appeared at the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office control room at around 11:05 PM the previous day.

The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office stated, that they immediately cooperated with the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency to track A upon the occurrence of the escape incident, and during this process, they obtained contact information used by A and persuaded him several times, eventually leading to his voluntary appearance at the prosecution.
However, since A's act of carrying a weapon and staging a hostage situation constitutes a special obstruction of official duties, which the prosecution cannot directly investigate, the prosecution first handed over A's custody to the police to investigate the relevant charges.
The prosecution stated, "As soon as the police investigation of A is completed, we plan to execute an arrest warrant against A."
A, who had been arrested for serious crimes, was released after being granted a suspension of detention execution due to health reasons, but was supposed to return to prison at the end of April and is known to have fled.
While on the run, at around 8:37 PM on the 9th, when prosecution investigators raided a motel in the entertainment district of Sangnam-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam to arrest him, A used a weapon to take his partner B hostage and staged a hostage situation before fleeing.
Later, B went back alone to the motel to collect a cellphone and clothes left there and was caught by the police who had been requested to cooperate.
