K-Content Gains Momentum in Southeast Asia Expansion

KOCCA Facilitates 410 Export Consultations in Malaysia

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 12th that they facilitated export consultations worth 47.01 million USD (approximately 64.7 billion KRW) at the 'K-Content Expo in Malaysia,' which concluded on the 8th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

K-Content Gains Momentum in Southeast Asia Expansion

The K-Content Expo is an event that supports the overseas expansion and export market development of excellent domestic content companies. This is the first time it has been held in Malaysia. Given Malaysia's rapid economic and cultural growth, it was deemed the optimal location to raise awareness of K-Content in the Southeast Asian market.

Forty outstanding domestic content companies, including CJ ENM, KBS Media, Lotte Cultureworks, and The Pinkfong Company, participated in the event. They discussed exports with eighty major Southeast Asian companies, seeking to establish overseas expansion and business cooperation relationships.

A total of 410 export consultations were conducted. Ten business agreements were also signed. These include agreements between Cuties and Fortis Inbacta, Characterink and CNE Global, Art Licensing and Emotion Entertainment, Magic Video and Siscotech Playmo, Wigram and Illusionist Production, and MN Media and Momodica.

The Korea Creative Content Agency will also hold the K-Content Expo next month in New Delhi, India. In October, it will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, and in November in Frankfurt, Germany, paving the way for entry into the European market.
