Samsung Electronics Begins Registration for the 8th Samsung Security Technology Forum... Sharing Achievements of 'Generative AI'

Samsung Electronics announced on the 12th that it will host the "8th Samsung Security Technology Forum" on the 10th of next month at the Samsung Electronics Seoul Research and Development (R&D) Campus in Umyeon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. Registration for participation will begin on the same day. Online applications will be accepted from that day until the 10th of next month.

Samsung Electronics has been holding the forum since 2017 to expand the base of information security technology and to nurture talent. It is an event where global security experts, academia, and industry stakeholders gather to share the latest achievements in the field of security technology.

The theme of this forum is "Security with Generative AI: Towards a Safe Future with Generative Intelligence."

The forum will include a welcome speech by Jeon Gyeong-hoon, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Samsung Electronics’ DX (Device Experience) Division and President of Samsung Research, and a keynote lecture by Kim Tae-soo, Executive Director of the Security & Privacy Team at Samsung Research, Samsung Electronics. Invited lectures will follow by Brendan Dolan-Gavitt, Professor of Computer Science at New York University, USA; Yoon In-soo, Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST); and Park Sang-don, Professor of Computer Science at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH).

This year, the sessions have been organized more diversely. They will introduce research by authors of papers from leading security academic conferences, major research and business unit security activities by Samsung Research for customer product and data protection, and activities for early detection of security vulnerabilities using AI.

The popular security experience zone, which has received positive responses every year, will also be prepared this year. It will be conducted as an AI security technology demonstration and on-site experience event. Various content such as vulnerability detection using AI tools and hacking experiences will be prepared.

President Jeon Gyeong-hoon said, "AI technology is expected to bring innovative changes to the security field," adding, "The event will be a great opportunity to learn from the experiences and insights of experts in AI security and will be an important occasion to discuss the future of security technology and the establishment of a safe digital environment."

More details about the forum can be found on the Samsung Research website.
