Samsung C&T Resort Division announced on the 12th that the official Everland app won the grand prize in the Brand & Communication category at the German 'Red Dot Design Award 2024'.
The Red Dot Design Award, hosted by the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, was established in 1955 and is considered one of the world's top three design awards alongside Germany's 'iF Design Award' and the United States' 'IDEA'.
Everland launched a new app last November in collaboration with eTribe, a web development specialist company. The app reflects Everland's identity as "a space that gifts a fairy-tale-like day." It was released to enable customers to have comfortable and diverse experiences.
It stimulated childhood innocence with a familiar and soft image. The membership system 'Somsatang' provided customized services for each customer. It incorporated fairy-tale design elements reminiscent of sweet cotton candy. Various functions were organized into an intuitive interface so that customers could focus on their park experience.
In particular, the Somsatang membership maximized customer experience from the planning stage before the visit, through park usage, to the post-visit process by providing personalized information.
By entering personalized information such as preferred types of rides, visit frequency, and companion types into the app, it recommends customized content including the perfect usage courses, tips, experiences, goods, and promotions tailored to the user.
It provides information on tickets, experience program reservations, nearby attraction wait times, and performance schedules. It also features a ride pre-reservation system called 'Smart Queue'. Records such as which courses were enjoyed, how many rides were used, and how many steps were taken are saved as memory reports.
Since its launch in November last year, the Somsatang membership surpassed 5 million subscribers within eight months, becoming the first in the domestic leisure industry to achieve this milestone.
An Everland official said, "We are pleased that the Everland app has won an award at a world-class design award," adding, "We will strengthen customer-tailored services by precisely analyzing the accumulated data from Somsatang and introduce various products."
