Achieved 'All-Time High' in Various Job Indicators Last Year
On the 11th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced that it was selected as the "only autonomous district nationwide to be an excellent local government for 12 consecutive years" in the evaluation of the "2024 National Local Government Job Awards" hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
In this evaluation, Buk-gu received high praise for supporting the creation of a stable local employment environment through customized support tailored to the characteristics of each target group, including small and medium-sized enterprises, small business owners, youth, and vulnerable groups.

In particular, by actively promoting various job projects, Buk-gu created 16,761 jobs, exceeding last year's job target of 15,676 by 1,085 jobs (achievement rate of 106.9%), and recorded the "highest ever" in various local "job indicators" such as youth and female employment rates.
Buk-gu was recognized for its performance against job targets and received the "Minister of Employment and Labor Award" in the job target disclosure system category, enjoying the honor of being the only autonomous district nationwide to be selected as an excellent institution in job policy for 12 consecutive years.
The National Local Government Job Awards is Korea's representative job policy awards ceremony conducted annually by the Ministry of Employment and Labor since 2012 to evaluate local governments' efforts and achievements in job creation and to share and spread best practices.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "Jobs suited to local conditions are a policy area that must be actively fostered and supported to revitalize the region and enhance competitiveness," adding, "We will continue to do our best to promote employment stability based on efficient job strategies and ensure that jobs matching local characteristics are continuously created."
Meanwhile, from 2013 to 2023, Buk-gu received ▲3 Grand Prizes ▲7 Excellence Awards ▲1 Special Award in the Local Government Job Awards over 11 years.
