Seven Appointments Including Kim Dong-gwon as International Cooperation Officer to Police Commissioner
On the 10th, the government promoted Kim Jun-young, Chief of Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, and Oh Moon-gyo, Chief of Chungnam Provincial Police Agency, from Commissioner to Senior Commissioner.
The Senior Commissioner rank is directly below the Commissioner General, who is the head of the National Police Agency. Excluding the National Investigation Headquarters Chief, whose term is guaranteed, there are six positions: Deputy Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, Chiefs of Seoul, Busan, Gyeonggi Nambu, and Incheon Police Agencies, and the President of the Police University.
The candidates for promotion to Commissioner are Kim Dong-kwon, International Cooperation Officer of the National Police Agency; Im Jeong-ju, Head of Security Division at Seoul Police Agency; Go Pyeong-gi, Head of Crime Prevention and Response Division at Seoul Police Agency; Do Jun-su, Police Administrator at Seoul Police Agency; Son Je-han, Head of Investigation Division at Busan Police Agency; Baek Dong-heum, Head of Investigation Division at Ulsan Police Agency; and Mo Sang-myo, Chief of Bundang Police Station at Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency.
The appointments to Senior Commissioner and Commissioner will be decided later after consultation with the provincial autonomous police committees.
