At 12:29 PM on the 10th, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in the sea area 476 km north-northeast of Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, Japan, according to the Meteorological Agency citing foreign observation agencies.
The epicenter was at 47.40 degrees north latitude and 145.60 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 490 km.
