The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (President Song Pil-ho) announced on the 9th that it will urgently provide 11,200 bottles of 500ml bottled water sponsored by OB Beer (CEO Bae Ha-jun) to vulnerable disaster groups such as residents of jjokbangchon (tiny room villages) and homeless people whose health and safety are threatened by the heatwave.
The support targets residents of the Seoul Station jjokbangchon and homeless people in Seoul, Chungbuk, and other areas. To ensure swift and practical assistance, the association is cooperating with and supporting four social welfare facilities on site, including Eumseong Flower Village. A representative from OB Beer stated, "As the heatwave warning in the Seoul area has continued for more than a week, we decided to provide bottled water to help the vulnerable elderly living alone in the jjokbangchon, even if just a little," adding, "We will continue to carry out various activities that contribute to the local community."
Hope Bridge also actively conducts relief activities for neighbors suffering from summer disasters, such as delivering 15,800 'Cool Welcome Kits,' which are heatwave and infection prevention kits for vulnerable disaster groups, to 188 social welfare facilities nationwide on the 5th.
Hope Bridge Secretary-General Shin Hoon said, "Heatwaves, which have been included as natural disasters since 2018, are now climate disasters that require proactive prevention and response through public-private cooperation from the perspective of disaster welfare for vulnerable groups," adding, "We deeply thank OB Beer for sponsoring the precious bottled water, and Hope Bridge will strive to ensure that this goodwill is fully conveyed."
