The event, held on the 8th at Yonsei University's Baekyangnuri Grand Ballroom, was an occasion to share the final achievements of 'Workstation,' a student organization with a socially innovative mindset. It was organized to encourage students who have worked hard to solve various social issues during the first half of the year.

Divided into three parts, the event consisted of 'Social Impact Talk,' '2024 First Half Workstation Final Pitching,' and 'Awards and Social Innovator Certificate Presentation.' In April this year, the Institute for Higher Education Innovation selected 248 teams across six fields practicing social value creation and social innovation for the first half of the year, supporting a total of 1,050 students through a partnership agreement.

The Grand Prize winners in the 'Social Value' category were ▲Idaero (a political newsletter for people in their 20s), ▲Farewell X (a grief care solution platform for suicide bereaved families), and ▲Upbrella (a shared umbrella platform and automation system). In the 'Impact Business' category, the winners were ▲OnDo (a low-volume liquid measuring and dosing tool for the visually impaired), ▲CloseToME (independent walking support technology for people with low vision), and ▲Muto (a self-development app specialized for commuting time). Each team received a scholarship of 3 million KRW.

Yonsei University President Yoon Dong-seop delivered an encouraging speech, saying, "It was a deeply moving time to feel firsthand your passion and dedication as you fiercely contemplated and worked to solve various social problems throughout the last semester. Yonsei University will actively support your social innovation activities so that, although they may be a gentle breeze now, they will grow into a strong wind over time and bring about social change."

Through the 2024 First Half IHEI Festa, Yonsei University Institute for Higher Education Innovation concluded the first half Workstation support project and plans to continuously support Yonsei students' social innovation activities in the second half of the year through new Workstations and various programs.
