Hanwha Aerospace has decided to collaborate with the Korea National Defense University (KNDU), a central institution for national security education and research in South Korea, to foster talent and conduct research in defense, space, and aviation technologies.
Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 9th that it signed an industry-academia cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KNDU. The signing ceremony, held the previous day at the Hanwha Building in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by about 10 officials, including Son Jae-il, CEO of Hanwha Aerospace, and Lim Ki-hoon, president of KNDU.
Through this MOU, Hanwha Aerospace and KNDU will cooperate in areas such as ▲discovering and nurturing future talent ▲exchange of personnel in defense, space, and aviation ▲holding educational and research seminars ▲social contribution and cultural experiences. They will also expand the existing program that allows foreign military officers and their families enrolled in KNDU’s security courses to visit defense industry sites.
CEO Son Jae-il stated, "Through diverse cooperation with KNDU, we will put more effort into researching future core defense technologies such as advanced aircraft engines. We will also expand industry-academia cooperation to discover and nurture future talent for the expansion of South Korea’s defense exports."
