Action Square, Korean Microsoft Sign AI Technology Partnership to "Improve Game Development Process"

Game developer Action Square announced on the 9th that it will collaborate with Microsoft Korea to develop games using the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. The Azure OpenAI Service refers to utilizing OpenAI's technology and services on Microsoft's cloud platform, Azure.


The signing ceremony took place at Microsoft Korea's office in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, with executives from both companies attending, including Kim Yeon-jun, CEO of Action Square, and Ko Kwang-beom, head of Microsoft Korea's division.


Through this agreement, Action Square plans to utilize Azure Virtual Machines and the Azure OpenAI Service in the development of its new upcoming title.


Kim Yeon-jun, CEO of Action Square, stated, “It has become a natural trend to use artificial intelligence (AI) during the game development phase to enhance quality in various areas and shorten development time in response to market changes. Through this technical collaboration and infrastructure support with Microsoft Korea, we will actively leverage AI technology to improve art quality, streamline development processes, and optimize localization.”


Ko Kwang-beom, head of Gaming and Hyundai Motor Group Business Division at Microsoft Korea, said, “We highly anticipate the synergy that will arise from this partnership to jointly lead innovation in the gaming industry. Microsoft will provide various AI solutions, including the Azure OpenAI Service, to support Action Square in efficiently managing the game development process in a stable environment.”
