Arrowheads Used in Paris Olympics Delivered to Cheongju Mayor Lee Beomseok

A welcoming ceremony was held on the 8th for Kim Woojin, an archer from Cheongju City Hall who achieved a triple crown at the Paris Olympics, with around 700 Cheongju citizens in attendance.
On this day, Cheongju City hosted a welcoming event for the Paris Olympic archery team at Dongbuchanggo in Naedeok-dong, Cheongwon-gu. The event was attended by Cheongju Mayor Lee Beomseok, Cheongju City Council Chairman Kim Hyeongi, Cheongju Sports Association President Kim Jingyun, Chungbuk Archery Association President Park Mankyu, and many citizens, who gave enthusiastic applause to the athletes.
As Kim Woojin, Coach Hong Seungjin, and Coach Lim Donghyun entered the venue, they gave high-fives to the citizens, bringing great joy to the attendees.
Kim Woojin presented the arrowhead he actually used at the Paris Olympics to Mayor Lee Beomseok, receiving applause from the audience.
Mayor Lee Beomseok said, "I am proud that Kim Woojin, the world's best archer and Korea's greatest Olympian with a record five gold medals, is in Cheongju City. I am grateful for raising the honor of both the Republic of Korea and Cheongju City."
He added, "We will actively support Cheongju's athletes so they can train in the best environment and achieve their dreams in sports."
The city awarded a prize of 30 million KRW each to Kim Woojin and Coach Hong Seungjin.
Meanwhile, at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Kim Woojin won gold medals in the men's team event, mixed team event, and individual event, achieving a triple crown in archery. He also claimed his fifth career Olympic gold medal, setting the record for the most gold medals by a Korean athlete.
