An Se-young "Sorry to the players... Will make a statement after the tournament" [Paris Olympics]

Immediately after winning the gold medal in the women's singles badminton event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, An Se-young (Samsung Life), who made a resolute statement to the Badminton Korea Association, apologized to her fellow players and announced that she would release a related statement after the competition.


On the 8th, An Se-young posted an apology on social media (SNS), stating, "I am most sorry to the athletes who are performing on the Olympic stage after countless efforts."


She said, "I feel very heavy-hearted for surprising many people with my words," adding, "My remarks have overshadowed the moments when everyone should have been able to fully enjoy congratulations and glory like a tidal wave. I sincerely apologize to the athletes."


She also hinted at plans to disclose specific complaints about the Badminton Korea Association and the national team after the Olympics conclude.


An Se-young said, "I also apologize to many people who are waiting for my position," and added, "After the Olympic games end and all athletes have been sufficiently celebrated, I will share my thoughts and position."
