Busan Gijang County and Jeonbuk Muju County Youth Continue Friendship with 43rd Exchange Meeting

60 Youth Participate in Various Experiential Activities

Gijang-gun, Busan (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced that from the 6th to the 8th, a three-day youth training activity was held with 60 youths from Gijang-gun and Muju-gun, Jeonbuk.


The 'Gijang-Muju Youth Exchange Program' was established to provide youth, who are growing up in completely different environments such as the sea and mountainous regions, with opportunities for diverse experiences.


Since its inception in 1999, the program has rotated visits between the two cities and is now marking its 43rd event. It is recognized as an exemplary case of local government exchange, maintaining strong friendships to this day.


This year's training activities took place in various locations across Gijang-gun, including the Gijang Culture and Etiquette School. The youths from both institutions participated in activities such as ▲marine sports experiences ▲Busan Lotte World visit ▲National Busan Science Museum tour ▲community activities, broadening their horizons and strengthening mutual friendships.


Notably, this event saw the direct participation of youths from the Youth Participation Committee and the Steering Committee of both institutions. They completed the programs and, under the leadership of the committees, discussed various exchange projects, thereby expanding youth involvement in the exchange activities between the two institutions.


Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang-gun, stated, "The youth exchange program, held a remarkable 43 times, is a great asset and source of pride for the region simply by its history alone," adding, "Both institutions will continue exchanges and consultations so that the youths of the two regions, against the backdrop of pristine natural environments and excellent educational conditions, can share friendship and nurture their grand dreams together."


Since forming a sisterhood relationship in 1996, Gijang-gun, Busan and Muju-gun, Jeonbuk have continued ongoing exchange and cooperation activities in various fields such as youth exchange, agricultural and livestock products, and cultural tourism.
