Asan City in Chungnam conducted an on-site inspection of Wolcheon Library, scheduled to open in December.
On the 8th, Asan City in Chungnam announced that it had conducted an on-site inspection of the Wolcheon Library, scheduled to open in December, and listened to residents' opinions.
Located at 1844 Buksu-ri, Baebang-eup, the Wolcheon Library was built with a total project cost of 14.4 billion KRW, featuring a total floor area of 2,944.49 square meters, one basement level, and five above-ground floors. Most of the construction has been completed, with only the finishing interior work remaining.
The library is planned to be operated as a municipal library and will include a multi-purpose cultural space, a bookstore for infants and elementary school students, a general reading room, and a youth area. A public parking lot has also been built on the adjacent site.
During the on-site inspection, which was attended by local residents and members of the Wolcheon Library Construction Promotion Committee, residents suggested the need for a variety of cultural programs and careful spatial design and interiors to ensure children's safety.
Mayor Park Kyunggui said, "After the opening, we will conduct a demand survey and prepare various programs tailored to the main age groups using the library at different times," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that the library functions as a beloved multi-purpose cultural space for local residents, beyond just a public library."
