Daejeon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency Provides 200 Million Won for 'Bohun Culture Content' Support
38 out of 58 Total Filming Sessions Held in Daejeon
The movie "Hijacking," the first project supported by the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency's "2024 Patriotic Culture Content Production Support Project," has contributed to the spread of patriotic culture by launching simultaneously in theaters and on IPTV services.
"Hijacking" is a sincere portrayal of the real-life 1971 passenger plane hijacking incident and heated up theaters this summer. The intense performances by Ha Jungwoo, Yeo Jingoo, Sung Dongil, and Chae Soobin offer an overwhelming sense of immersion.
In particular, Jeon Myungse, the real-life figure played by Ha Jungwoo and a trainee pilot at the time, sacrificed himself to prevent a grenade explosion during the incident. He was posthumously promoted to captain and is buried at the Seoul National Cemetery.
The Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency provided 550 million KRW in support to three companies through the "2024 Patriotic Movie & Drama Distribution and Marketing Support Project." Among them, "Hijacking" received 200 million KRW. Out of 58 filming sessions, 38 were shot in Daejeon, including at the agency's studio.
A representative from the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency stated, "We expect that the movie 'Hijacking' will serve as an opportunity to honor the noble sacrifices of national patriots," adding, "We will continue to take the lead in raising awareness of national patriotism through the Patriotic Culture Content Production Support Project."
