Lee Jae-myung with a pistol "Ready for deployment"... Jin Jong-oh "Where is the target?"

Lee Jae-myung Reveals Shooting Athlete Concept Photo on the 7th

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, the South Korean shooting team harvested the most medals in history, and Lee Jae-myung, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, revealed photos with a shooting athlete concept.

On the 7th, Lee posted several photos on his Instagram showing himself dressed as a shooting athlete holding a pistol. The released photos showed Lee wearing sportswear and goggles while holding a pistol. Along with the photos, he added hashtags such as 'Sajukjae-myeong' (Shooting Jae-myung), 'Jeondangdaehoe' (Party Convention), and 'Myeongsasu' (Sharpshooter), writing "Ready for deployment."

Jin Jong-oh, an Olympic shooting gold medalist and member of the People Power Party, commented on his Facebook after seeing Lee’s photos, saying, "Where is the target for the bulletproof National Assembly's legislative dominance and parliamentary control?" He also added the hashtag '#MyeongsasuIsMyeongsasu' (#SharpshooterIsSharpshooter).

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party will elect one party leader and five supreme council members at the party convention scheduled for the 18th. In the Democratic Party’s leader and supreme council elections, 56% of the vote reflects party members' rights holders, 14% reflects delegates, and 30% reflects general public opinion polls. Unlike the online voting results of party members' rights holders announced in each regional primary, the ARS voting results of party members' rights holders, online voting results of delegates, and general public opinion poll results will all be announced together at the party convention on the 18th.

Although the Seoul and Gyeonggi regional primaries, which account for about 40% of all party members' rights holders, remain, analysis suggests that candidate Lee’s re-election is virtually decided, as he is already recording a vote share close to 90%.
