Oral Care Services for People with Disabilities Start from the 8th
Dankook University College of Dentistry Sejong Dental Hospital held the opening ceremony of the Sejong Regional Oral Health Care Center for Persons with Disabilities on the 8th.
Dankook University College of Dentistry's Sejong Dental Hospital opened the Sejong Regional Center for Oral Health Care for the Disabled on the 8th and began full-scale operations.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jang Hosung, Chairman of the Dankook University Foundation, Choi Minho, Mayor of Sejong, Kim Jongbin, Director of Sejong Dental Hospital, Lee Jonghyuk, Director of Dental Hospital, Kang Mingu, Director of Sejong City Public Health Center, Bae Kyungtaek, Director General of Health Policy at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and other officials from the university, hospital, and Sejong City.
The Sejong Regional Center for Oral Health Care for the Disabled is equipped with a 642.37-square-meter outpatient clinic, a general anesthesia room, a recovery room, and other facilities to provide specialized oral health services for people with severe disabilities in Sejong City and nearby areas.
The center was established with 1.3 billion KRW in equipment and facility support from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Sejong City, and is equipped for treatment of people with disabilities. It also plans to strengthen training for professional and support staff, serving as a base for oral health care for people with disabilities in the region.
Kim Jongbin, Director of Sejong Dental Hospital, stated, "Since opening the dental hospital at the Cheonan campus in 1984, Dankook University has worked to improve oral health and foster talent in the central region. With the opening of the Sejong Regional Center for Oral Health Care for the Disabled, following the Chungnam and Gyeonggi regional centers, we aim to contribute to improving oral health as a community-oriented medical institution."
