Looking for Aspiring Singers at the Gyeongbuk Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Festival
Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk is recruiting participants for the '2024 Sobaeksan Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Song Festival' until September 6.
This song festival, hosted by the Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Festival Organizing Committee and organized by the Punggi Lions Club, will be held as part of the '2024 Gyeongbuk Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Festival'.
To participate, applicants must select two songs of their choice and apply after mobile phone identity verification on the Yeongju City Hall website, or by email, fax, or by visiting the Planning and Budget Office at Yeongju City Hall.
Eligibility is open to anyone nationwide aged 18 or older with a passion and talent for singing, except for previous winners of the Sobaeksan Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Song Festival.
The preliminary round will be held on September 7 at the main auditorium of the Punggi Culture House, where 12 finalists will be selected.
The final round will take place on October 12 at 6:30 PM on the main stage of the Punggi Ginseng Festival during the '2024 Gyeongbuk Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Festival' period (October 5 to 13).
Among the finalists, six winners will receive cash prizes and trophies: Grand Prize (3 million KRW), Gold Prize (1.5 million KRW), Silver Prize (800,000 KRW), Bronze Prize (500,000 KRW), Popularity Award (300,000 KRW), and Special Award (300,000 KRW).
An event official said, "The 2024 Gyeongbuk Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Festival is a wonderful event where both local residents and tourists can create happy memories," and added, "We hope many talented aspiring singers will participate and make the stage truly special."
