Grand ICT Research Center for Artificial Intelligence Signs Agreement with Korea Railroad Corporation
Support for Digital Transformation Project Planning, Research, and Development
Dong-Eui University has embarked on a digital transformation project for the railway industry.
The Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center at Dong-Eui University (Director: Jung Seokchan) announced on the 8th that it had signed a business agreement on the 6th at the Busan Station conference room with organizations such as the Busan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation, Yeongnam Regional Headquarters of the National Railroad Authority, Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, and Busan Technopark to promote the development of the regional digital and railway industries.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jung Seokchan, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center, Choi Eunju, Head of the Busan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation, Koo Ukhyun, Head of the Yeongnam Regional Headquarters of the National Railroad Authority, Kim Taeyeol, President of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, Kim Hyunggyun, President of Busan Technopark, and other representatives from each organization.
Through this agreement, the Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center will support 'digital project planning, research, and development'; Korea Railroad Corporation will provide 'planning for railway and digital convergence industries and business opportunities for local companies'; the National Railroad Authority will enhance 'the public interest and operational cooperation of the project'; the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency will support 'project assistance and nurture digital local talents'; and Busan Technopark will focus on 'fostering startups and data-based digital industries in the region.' These efforts aim to mutually cooperate for the digital transformation and innovation of the railway industry.
Jung Seokchan, Director, emphasized, "By applying artificial intelligence to the railway industry and services, we will contribute to the safety of railways and passengers, improve the quality of public services, and create opportunities for the joint growth of the regional digital and railway industries."
The Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center at Dong-Eui University is carrying out its work with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) through the 'Regional Intelligence Innovation Talent Development Project.'
The Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center has signed an agreement with Korea Railroad Corporation and others to pursue cooperation in the digital transformation of the railway industry.
