This project is a demonstration project to develop and verify a 500kWe-class high-efficiency generator system for clean hydrogen and distributed power generation using hydrogen combustion engines, with a budget of approximately 14 billion KRW until June 2027.

Along with the development of the hydrogen engine generator system, HD Hyundai Infracore will explore ways to increase power generation efficiency through engine waste heat recovery and waste heat power generation, and also verify hydrogen-ammonia co-firing technology.

After successfully completing this project, the company plans to enter the clean hydrogen power generation bidding market together with demand companies such as Korea East-West Power, Korea Western Power, and Pyeongtaek Urban Corporation. It also intends to explore various business opportunities related to hydrogen engine power generation, including emergency power generation, industrial complex renewable energy supply, data center electricity supply, and mobile charging for ships.

An HD Hyundai Infracore official said, "With the progress of this national project, we expect to secure various development and demonstration achievements related to hydrogen engine power generation in addition to the 200kWe-class demonstration that was previously conducted through self-investment."
