6 Districts, 17 Industrial Complexes, Filming Every Corner of Industrial Infrastructure
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Acting Director Seon Yang-gyu, hereinafter referred to as Gwangyang Economic Authority) announced that it conducted drone filming from August 6 to 8 to provide a comprehensive overview of the industrial complex development status in the Gwangyang Bay Area.
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone is developing 17 industrial complexes across 6 districts over an area of 57.08㎢ spanning Yeosu City, Suncheon City, Gwangyang City, and Hadong County. This is the second largest scale among the nine free economic zones nationwide.
This filming included major industrial complexes such as Yulchon 1 Industrial Complex (9.11㎢), Hwayang Complex Tourism Complex (6.43㎢), and Daesong Industrial Complex (1.37㎢), as well as key infrastructure like the Gwangyang Steelworks and Gwangyang Port. The filming was conducted by two teams.
Drone Team 1 departed from Yeosu and filmed Hwayang Complex Tourism Complex, Gyeongdo Marine Tourism Complex, Yeosu National Industrial Complex, Yulchon 1st and 2nd Industrial Complexes, Haeryong Industrial Complex, Seonwol Hi-Park, and Shindae Back-up Complex. Team 2 departed from Hadong and captured Daesong Industrial Complex, Galsaman Shipbuilding Complex, Duwoo Leisure Complex, Gwangyang Port, Container Wharf Back-up Complex (East/West), Hwanggeum Industrial Complex, and Sepung Industrial Complex.
The Gwangyang Economic Authority plans to use this footage to document the rapid development process of the industrial complexes in the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone and utilize it for promotional videos, white paper production, and investment attraction information provision.
In particular, the beautiful scenery of the Yeosu Hwayang Complex and Gyeongdo Marine Tourism Complex, which will serve as key points in the South Coast tourism belt, was filmed to highlight their value as marine tourism hubs. The latest appearances of industrial complexes with many newly settled companies, such as Hwanggeum Industrial Complex and Yulchon 1 Industrial Complex, were also captured to provide promotional materials for resident companies.
A representative of the Gwangyang Economic Authority stated, “Through this filming, we have been able to more effectively convey the diverse development status of the Gwangyang Bay Area,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to provide information about the Gwangyang Bay Area to local residents and investment companies through ongoing content production and broadcasting.”
