A scam coin specialist who swindled about 15 billion KRW from investors by using a famous celebrity as a front has been arrested.
On the 8th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office Virtual Asset Crime Joint Investigation Team (Head Park Geon-wook) announced that Mr. A (54) was arrested on charges of fraud.
Mr. A is accused of conspiring with the issuer of Queenbee Coin from January to April 2021 to deceive coin investors of approximately 15 billion KRW through false disclosures and market manipulation.
Queenbee Coin gained popularity, boasting a maximum trading volume of 120 billion coins by promoting that it received investment from actor Bae Yong-joon, but it was delisted due to stock price manipulation and other issues.
Previously, the prosecution sent five people, including the actual operator and the CEO of the Queenbee Coin development company, to trial.
