Continuing Efforts to Strengthen Maritime Safety
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) conducted a joint rescue forces training exercise with the West Sea Marine Special Rescue Unit on the sea in front of the Mokpo Maritime Police exclusive pier on the 7th.
According to the Maritime Police on the 8th, the joint training was carried out to share rescue techniques tailored to the characteristics of the local waters among rescue forces and to strengthen teamwork in preparation for on-site rescue situations.

The training involved rescue forces from Mokpo Maritime Police vessels and rescue base police stations, as well as the special rescue team from the West Sea Special Unit. It consisted of △ underwater search and underwater clearance training △ underwater circular search, semicircular search training around the pier and slipway △ and emergency treatment proficiency training for various situations.
Seo Wol-seok, Head of the Security and Rescue Division at Mokpo Maritime Police, said, “Marine accidents frequently occur during the peak summer season. We ask the public to be especially cautious in preventing marine accidents, and the Maritime Police will always strive to protect the lives and property of the people.”
