Seodaemun-gu to Launch 'Youth Startup Experience Education' from the 17th of This Month

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 8th that it will conduct the "2024 Seodaemun-gu Youth Startup Experience Education" to help young people develop their hobbies into startups.

The courses include silver ring craft, pottery craft, fairy tale book psychological counseling, baking, Makgeolli brewing, resin craft, and computer embroidery. From August 17 to September 11, education sessions will be held 2 to 3 hours each time, ranging from one session (Makgeolli brewing) to up to six sessions (computer embroidery), depending on the course. The locations are private facilities such as the Seodaemun Youth Startup Center, workshops, studios, and breweries.

The target age group is 19 to 39 years old. Interested individuals can refer to the notice on the Seodaemun-gu Office website or access the QR code on the promotional poster to apply, with 10 people per session (13 for baking). A participation fee of 2,000 KRW is to be paid on-site on the day of the education.

If there are many applicants, priority will be given to those who live or work in Seodaemun-gu, and in the case of computer embroidery, those who can attend all six sessions. While one person can apply for multiple courses, duplicate assignments will be minimized if there are many applicants.

Mayor Lee Seongheon said, "Startups based on hobbies will enable both self-realization and economic activity," adding, "We will actively support so that the diverse interests of youth can become the foundation for startups."
