SKT Hosts 6th Devotion Tech Day
Showcases AI Demo Booths Including LLM Teddy Bear
Developers Share AI Technology Study Cases
SK Telecom shares a case study of an artificial intelligence (AI) technology study group voluntarily operated by 102 developers over 12 weeks.
On the 8th, SKT held the '6th Devotion Tech Day' at the SUPEX Hall in SKT Tower. 'Devotion (DEVOCEAN)' is a representative developer community led by the SK ICT family, meaning 'Developers’ Ocean'?a sea of inspiration for developers. SKT holds 'Devotion Tech Day' every quarter to showcase technologies and solutions developed in-house as well as joint development achievements both internally and externally.
The theme of this session was 'Devotion Open Lab,' telling the 12-week growth story of 102 developers who gathered. In April, SKT launched the ‘Devotion Open Lab,’ an AI-centered study program led by Devotion experts.
'Devotion Open Lab' operated a total of 10 study programs necessary for AI developers over approximately three months, focusing on AI-related topics that have recently gained attention in the development ecosystem, including ▲Generative AI ▲Open Large Language Models (LLM) ▲LLM Ops, as well as ▲Backend ▲Network, among others.
At this Tech Day, four demo booths showcasing project outcomes were presented: ▲'EcoTeddy,' an LLM-based teddy bear for emotional support of autistic children ▲'Lens,' a data extraction and query execution automation solution ▲'LLM EduBank,' which automatically generates AI problems ▲'TGO (Travel Go),' a user travel itinerary solution.
Additionally, outstanding participants of the ‘Devotion Open Lab’ will present the results of their studies, including ▲Preparing for travel with Microsoft 'GraphRAG' ▲Exploring the AI platform 'CubeFlow' ▲Use cases for open LLM and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) in work environments.
SKT emphasized the significance of this event compared to past Devotion Tech Days, which were conducted in a simple lecture format, as it shared the process where many active developers exchanged AI development knowledge.
Kim Kyunghwan, a university student developer presenting on the theme of programming languages and tools at this Tech Day, said, "'Devotion Open Lab' allowed me to share diverse perspectives with developers regardless of age or affiliation and to have a positive mutual influence. As a university student contemplating a career as a developer, it was the best experience."
Ahn Jeonghwan, CHRO in charge of corporate culture at SKT, stated, "Through the 12-week Devotion Open Lab, we strengthened solidarity among developers and led a high-quality development culture that fosters exchange and advancement of the latest AI technologies. This Devotion Tech Day is an example demonstrating the power of collective intelligence, and SKT will continue to strive to enhance the competitiveness of domestic developers amid the rapidly changing AI ecosystem."
