Promotion of Standard Specification Establishment and Service Commercialization
Hyundai Elevator is expanding its elevator and robot linkage services in partnership with Kakao Mobility.
On the 7th, Hyundai Elevator announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the commercialization of elevator-robot linkage services with Kakao Mobility at Kakao Mobility's headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.
Through this, both companies plan to establish standard specifications for elevator-robot linkage and actively cooperate to commercialize the service. Specifically, they will pursue ▲ development of linkage standards applicable to robot services where humans and robots coexist and to general buildings ▲ launch of a technical enhancement consultative body ▲ strategic collaboration in sales and promotion ▲ establishment of a market-leading foundation through user experience and data acquisition ▲ discussions on cooperation for overall vertical logistics within buildings.
The linkage between elevators and delivery robots will be centered on Hyundai Elevator's maintenance service "Miri," launched last year. This will enable the implementation of elevator-robot linkage, providing remote fault handling and inspections.
Joa Jae-cheon, CEO of Hyundai Elevator, emphasized, "We will realize an ecosystem of delivery robot services that overcome the limitations of horizontal movement and allow free vertical movement, enabling spatial mobility without restrictions."
Ryu Geung-seon, CEO of Kakao Mobility, said, "We will continue to strive to introduce robot services that offer new experiences based on interactions with users."
