Archbishop Giovanni Gaspari, Apostolic Nuncio to Korea (third from the right in the front row), visited Catholic University of Daegu on the 7th, toured the educational environment, and took a commemorative photo with officials.
This visit was arranged to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the university's founding and to personally observe the long-standing historical value and educational environment of Daegu Catholic University.
The visit included Archbishop Giovanni Gaspari, Apostolic Nuncio to Korea; Archbishop Thaddeus Cho Hwan-gil, Bishop of the Daegu Archdiocese; Bishop Jang Shin-ho, Vicar General; and Father Kim Hyun-seop, Secretary of the Diocese. They were welcomed at Daegu Catholic University by President Sung Han-gi, Father Oh Sang-jik, Director of Chaplaincy, and Father Jung Soo-cheol, Director of Administration.
The schedule began with a welcome from President Sung Han-gi, followed by a promotional video about the university and its chaplaincy activities. Father Kim Sung-rae, Director of the Center for Character Education, gave a presentation on Daegu Catholic University's education and achievements, to which the guests listened attentively.
Afterwards, the delegation toured the library and museum, showing great interest in the educational environment and history of Daegu Catholic University.
Archbishop Gaspari stated, "I am deeply impressed by the historical depth of Daegu Catholic University and its status as the largest Catholic comprehensive university in Korea," adding, "I will continue to work together for the advancement of Catholic education in Korea."
