"Reborn as an International City"... Hampyeong-gun and Lam Dong Province, Vietnam Join Hands for International Exchange

Promise of Mutual Cooperation in Festivals, Tourism, Import-Export, and Agricultural Technology

Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-ik) and the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province, Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 7th (local time) for international exchange.


According to Hampyeong-gun, the signing ceremony was attended by Lee Sang-ik, Governor of Hampyeong-gun; Pham S, Vice Governor of Lam Dong Province; Duong Quoc Anh, Director of Lam Dong Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center; and Tran Hai Linh, President of VKBIA (Vietnam-Korea Business Investment Association).

The agreement, held at the Lam Dong Provincial Office in Vietnam, includes a mutual commitment to actively cooperate in key areas such as festivals, tourism, import and export of agricultural specialty products, and agricultural cultivation technology education.


After the signing ceremony, the delegations from both countries discussed specific cooperation plans including the 'Korea National Chrysanthemum Festival - Dalat Flower Festival,' smart farm agricultural cultivation technologies, and the exchange of major agricultural specialty product imports and exports.


Meanwhile, since December last year, the two cities have held one working-level meeting each in their respective cities upon mutual invitation. Director Duong Quoc Anh visited the 26th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, attended the festival, and toured excellent agricultural facilities such as strawberry and lettuce farms.


Lee Sang-ik, Governor of Hampyeong-gun, stated, "For Hampyeong-gun to develop into a sustainable international city, our unique strengths, including agricultural specialty products, must stand out globally." He added, "We will spare no cooperation and support necessary for Hampyeong-gun's new challenges in response to changing conditions such as the environment."
