Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, held an emergency countermeasure meeting on the morning of the 7th at the Mapo District Office's main conference room in response to the resurgence of the COVID-19 infectious disease.
With COVID-19 spreading rapidly recently, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, the number of COVID-19 hospitalized patients has surged by as much as 5.1 times over the past four weeks.
In response, Mayor Park Gang-su convened the deputy mayor, department heads, the head of the public health center, and relevant department chiefs to assess the current COVID-19 situation and discuss plans to reorganize the quarantine system.
In particular, they carefully reviewed management measures to prepare for cluster outbreaks in vulnerable facilities such as nursing hospitals and welfare facilities for the disabled, as well as methods for supplying oral antiviral medications.
Mayor Park Gang-su urged, “Since the virus can spread rapidly during the hot weather and the frequent travel period of vacations, please actively monitor the COVID-19 situation closely,” adding, “I hope everyone will make every effort to secure treatments and promote preventive measures with the mindset that proactive response protects the safety of district residents.”
