Guinness World Record Broken Twice Consecutively
Marvel Entertainment's film "Deadpool & Wolverine," which set a new record for the highest opening for an R-rated movie in North America in 2024, is also reported to have been listed in the Guinness World Records for its drone show. It is said that the largest number of drones in history were flown over the United States to perform the show.
The American drone company "SkyElementsDrones," which conducted the drone show, recently posted on their official Instagram account, "Tonight, we flew the most drones ever in the history of the United States to perform a show," along with a video.

The video captures scenes from the drone show themed around the recently released popular movie "Deadpool & Wolverine." The drones move in perfect synchronization across the night sky, displaying images of the movie's main characters Deadpool, Wolverine, and the movie logo.
The drone show reportedly broke the Guinness World Record for the largest aerial airshow twice in a row. First, 1,599 drones were used to create the figure of the protagonist "Deadpool," played by actor Ryan Reynolds, setting a world record. Then, 1,607 drones flew to form the other protagonist "Wolverine," played by Hugh Jackman, breaking the record again.

Tyler Cubic, product manager at SkyElementsDrones, said in an interview with Guinness World Records, "Our goal was to create a show never seen before." He emphasized, "The drone show is ready to promote the greatest story in the world, and whenever we have the opportunity, we will showcase our capabilities."
Meanwhile, "Deadpool & Wolverine" continues to break world records in box office performance. Since its release at the end of last month, it dethroned Pixar's 3D animation "Inside Out 2" to claim the number one spot at the North American box office. Its opening week revenue reached $205 million (approximately 282.6 billion KRW), making it the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
In its second week, the global box office revenue soared to $824 million (approximately 1.136 trillion KRW). This is reported to be the highest-grossing record in the series, surpassing the previous films "Deadpool" ($782.83 million / approximately 1.0792 trillion KRW) and "Deadpool 2" ($785.89 million / approximately 1.0834 trillion KRW).
